Fired by the Kings, Vlade Divac Selling $1.65M Home in Downtown Sacramento

Vlade Divac Sacramento Homerealtor.com, Brian Rothmuller/Icon Sportswire

After five seasons in the front office for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, the former NBA center Vlade Divac was shown the door in August 2020.

Now Divac is divesting his real estate holdings in the capital city. He’s put his downtown Sacramento home on the market for $1.65 million.

Located just blocks away from the Kings’ downtown arena, it’s an awesome option for a buyer looking for a classic home in the middle of an urban setting.

The charming three-bedroom residence offers 3,371 square feet and was built way back in 1900. Since then, the single family abode has been renovated and now features a classic facade with an all-modern interior.

According to the listing, “The owners have paid attention to period details, while bringing modern functionality and style.”

High ceilings throughout the home offer an airy and spacious feel. The modern kitchen features an island with double ovens, and high-end finishes and appliances.

Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms—all bathed in natural light. The home’s basement has a separate entrance and offers a “studio-type layout and a spacious bathroom.”

Around the rear of the home is a garage, currently configured as a home gym, with a bonus space for meditation or yoga.

A gorgeous, private backyard has an extensive tiled patio area and offers a hot tub ideal for an evening soak.

This luxury home is located about 2 miles from the arena and would be a brisk 35-minute walk to work.

Divac purchased the downtown digs in April 2018 for $910,000 in the middle of his tenure as the general manager of the Kings.

He’s also lived in the neighboring Sacramento County town of Carmichael. In 2016, Carmichael’s Chamber of Commerce named him “Person of the Year.”

His former residence in Pacific Palisades recently sold again in November, for $3,436,000. He had purchased the property in 2004 for $2.5 million and sold it in 2015 for $2,711,500.

Divac, 52, made his NBA debut with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1989, and was a part of the first wave of players to come to the league from the former Yugoslavia. The Serbian 7-footer played for 16 seasons in the NBA and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 2019.

Nev Kordic with Coldwell Banker Realty is representing Divac with the sale.

Casino Mogul Steve Wynn Rolls the Dice on a $110M Sale in Beverly Hills

Steve Wynn Selling Beverly Hills homerealtor.com, Calvin Sit/Bloomberg via Getty Images

The billionaire resort and casino developer Steve Wynn is looking for a big win on his estate in Beverly Hills. He’s betting that he can double his money in the country’s most famous ZIP code.

Wynn paid $47,851,500 for the mansion around five years ago, and is now asking $110 million for the luxe property, which he purchased it in the summer of 2015 from the co-founder of Guess, Maurice Marciano.

On a large, lush 2.69-acre lot in the coveted Benedict Canyon area, it now has 11 bedrooms and 14.5 bathrooms, after the gaming mogul added about 8,000 square feet to the already enormous estate. It measures 27,150 square feet.

New lighting and audio systems, both indoors and out, were also added.

Wynn made sure the grounds and architecture met the standards he insists on at the posh resorts he’s developed, including the Bellagio, the Mirage, and the Wynn in Las Vegas.

The mansion’s grounds include a dramatic, parklike driveway and long, treelined walkways that serve to take you far from the city. There’s also a pool and a pro tennis court, with a seating pavilion that includes a kitchenette.

Inside, the mansion has a vast expanse of tasteful and elegant wall space, as well as exquisitely lit coffered ceilings, to show off treasures from Wynn’s legendary art collection. Many of the public rooms have the vibe of a luxury hotel.

The fully equipped gym, with more than 17 pieces of equipment, is also of the caliber of a luxury hotel.

The guest and staff accommodations, also comparable with those in a resort, include a guest lanai suite with a full kitchen and living room, three staff bedrooms with a staff kitchen, and two security-team bedrooms with a kitchenette.

A professional screening room is a must-have in a high-end SoCal mansion, and this cozy retreat is just the place to fire up a big-budget flick.

The list of luxury features includes an extensive wine room, an elevator, and a massive master suite. The generous reception area comes with a bar room, plus an adjacent indoor-outdoor main dining area that seats at least two dozen.

At 78, Wynn appears to be reconfiguring his public and professional footprint. In early 2018, he stepped down as CEO of Wynn Resorts and as finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, amid accusations of sexual misconduct, which he denies.

Extreme Makeover’s Ty Pennington Lists Bright and Beautiful Venice Beach Home

Reality TV star Ty Pennington, known for changing people’s lives with his energetic personality on the original version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, is now looking to cash in on his own home makeover. Pennington has just listed his house — a beautiful and bright 1927 Craftsman in Venice, Calif. — for $2,795,000.

Pennington put his home design expertise to good use and carefully restored the property earlier this year with the help of his trusted interior designer, Patrick Delanty. Delanty, also known to be Halle Berry’s designer, has long been working alongside Ty Pennington, serving as his design director for Extreme Makeover and running his on-air design segments, most notably his presence on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Rachel Ray Show, NBC’s Nightline and Good Morning America.

Just like its reality TV star owner, the home is bright, cheerful and quirky, with colorful interiors exuding creativity and style. The property is listed by Patrice Meepos of Compass.

Tucked away on a one-way street near the beach, Venice Boardwalk, canals and Abbot Kinney’s hot spots, the original 1927 dwelling has 3 beds, 3 baths, and a sizable living room with decorative fireplace, along with a sunken family room with large windows overlooking a newly landscaped, private back yard with koi pond.

The ground level hosts the kitchen, laundry room, and bedroom with direct backyard access, as well as a full bath. On the upper level, there’s a master retreat and a second bedroom.

Ty Pennington added quite a few special touches to the 2,102-square-foot home, including bamboo flooring, baths adorned in vintage-inspired ceramic tile, a master bath sporting a standalone shower and an antique cast-iron freestanding tub, kitchen with concrete countertops and a wraparound, porcelain-tiled porch. There’s also a beautiful backyard that looks like a great place to entertain guests.

While Ty Pennington did not return to host HGTV’s 2020 version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (which is hosted by Modern Family‘s Jesse Tyler Ferguson), you can catch the two time Emmy award winner in his other home improvement series, Trading Spaces — which recently restarted airing after a 10-year hiatus.

You can also get more tips from the home design expert from his latest book, Good Design Can Change Your Life, which is an intimate look at Ty’s design inspirations and is full of décor advice and tips. While we haven’t yet had the chance to pick up the book ourselves, according to his website the book is part reference, and part behind-the-scenes from Ty’s own home remodeling, which means the Venice home is already a bookshelf hit.

All-Pro Running Back Adrian Peterson Sells One Texas Home and Relists Another

Adrian Peterson Texas real estate
Nic Antaya/Getty Images After four years and multiple price cuts, the Detroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson finally walked away from his swanky estate in The Woodlands, TX.

The luxury property sold in early December 2020.

Now another Texas home he owns has surfaced on the market. The future Hall of Famer is asking $5.3 million for a Houston abode.

The All-Pro purchased the massive mansion in 2013 for $5,050,000. Just three years later, the Texas native listed it for a whopping $8.5 million.

The asking price slowly sank over the years. The final sale price wasn’t disclosed. It was last listed for $4.5 million before it sold in early December 2020, so Peterson was prepped to take a loss.

Built in 2004, the offering features seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and five half-bathrooms, spread over 10,582 square feet on a large, 8.95-acre lot.

Accessed through a gated entry, the state’s circular drive features a tranquil fountain. The interior layout includes a chef’s kitchen, five fireplaces, as well as a two-story library and walk-in wine cellar.

All the bedrooms are large, and the master suite comes with dual closets. Laundry rooms are conveniently installed on both floors.

Other fun perks include a full bar with a game room and media room.

In the back of the house, a pool and spa are surrounded by two outdoor kitchens and a covered patio. Guest quarters with a separate entrance complete this luxe estate.

Beth Cassidy with Douglas Elliman Real Estate represented the seller. The buyer was represented by Renay Cohen, also with Douglas Elliman Real Estate.

Hoping to sell in Houston

Peterson appeared to upgrade to a nearby home in Houston, which he purchased for $3,437,500 million in 2016, well below the $6 million asking price. That property is now available for $5.3 million.

The property was originally listed in February 2020 for $6 million, but the asking price was chopped twice before it was removed from the market.

The luxury compound then went back on the market in December 2020, at the current asking price. Located in the Rivercrest Estates in West Houston, this traditional estate on over 3.5 acres offers 11 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, and 11,384 square feet of space.

The mansion was built in 2007, and its lavish details include soaring ceilings and an array of upscale amenities.

Baller features include a wine bar, rotunda aquarium, elevator, playroom, two offices, private theatre, and a billiard entertaining area with a wet bar.

The compound is bound to appeal to a pro athlete or fitness fanatic, with its plush professional sports complex, which comes with a newly renovated indoor basketball court offering bleacher seating, gym, and hydrotherapy immersion tanks.

Outside, the grounds include a freshwater pool, golf putting green, and dog run.

A four-bedroom guesthouse completes the property.

If sold, the funds generated by the transactions may help the athlete with some financial problems. He reportedly owes $8.3 million in defaulted loans, despite having earned over $100 million over his 14-season career.

Peterson began his NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2007, where he starred for 10 seasons, before bouncing around the league over the past four seasons. He’s rushed for 14,820 yards and 118 touchdowns over the course of his career.

New to Market: Matt Damon’s Zen Los Angeles Home Asks $21 Million

As part of his plan of leaving Los Angeles and moving his family to the Big Apple, Matt Damon has now listed his Pacific Palisades home for sale. And he’s hoping to cash in big from the sale, asking $21 million for the Zen-inspired contemporary home set in one of LA’s most desirable neighborhoods.

Recently listed with Eric Haskell, an agent with celebrity real estate brokerage The Agency, Matt Damon’s house is an architectural masterpiece with 7 bedrooms, 10 baths, tons of distinct design features and some pretty extraordinary amenities. The Academy Award-winning actor will be trading all this for a 6,000-square-foot penthouse in Brooklyn, New York, having broken records last year by paying $16.745 million for the top floor unit of a famous former hotel, The Standish.

An architectural gem with striking features & Instagram-worthy interiors

Designed by award-winning architect Grant Kirkpatrick, founding partner of leading-edge design studio KAA Design Group, Matt Damon’s house is an extraordinary contemporary home that showcases masterful craftmanship throughout its 13,508-square-foot interiors.

With a modern-yet-timeless design, the house is anchored by a breathtaking atrium with 35-foot mahogany vaulted ceilings. The interiors are bathed in natural light and mix warm wood elements with natural stone, giving the whole space an inviting, relaxing vibe. Other striking features that deserve a shout-out: clerestory windows and glass walls that fuse the indoors with the outdoor areas.

The family room opens to the magnificent chef’s kitchen with custom mahogany cabinetry, Bluestone countertops and stainless steel Viking, Wolf and Miele appliances. The kitchen then opens to the expansive backyard retreat (but more on that in a minute).

All in all, Matt Damon’s soon-to-be former Los Angeles abode packs 7 bedrooms and 10 baths across 13,508 square feet of space. The primary suite comes with its own private terrace, dual dressing rooms, massage room and a spa-style bath with soaking tub and expansive shower. Pretty much every room offers leafy property and treetop views, adding an extra note of serenity to this wonderfully Zen-inspired home.

Amenities galore and a wonderful backyard retreat

Most celebrity homes tend to outdo themselves when it comes to amenities and bonus rooms and Matt Damon’s house is no exception. Interior amenities include a game room, bar, office, gym, plush media room, staff quarters and wine storage and tasting room. And that’s just what you’ll find inside the house.

Outside, the modern home has quite a few amenities that invite calm and relaxation (perfectly in tune with the rest of the house), including an expansive pool, spa, a cascading waterfall, koi pond and Hawaiian-inspired Lanai with a covered lounge and alfresco dining terrace. To appeal to the little ones — Damon is a father of four — there’s also a nice children’s play area.

Matt Damon’s next home is vastly different from his Los Angeles digs

The Academy Award-winning actor, who is starring in the highly anticipated Ridley Scott-directed The Last Duel (to be released this year), will soon be leaving Los Angeles behind. The move has long been planned, with Damon and wife Luciana Bozán Barroso having purchased a Brooklyn Heights penthouse two years ago for a record-breaking price.

The couple paid $16.745 million for a 6-bedroom, 6,201-square-foot penthouse at The Standish — a historically significant converted building that was originally built in 1903 as a Beaux Arts hotel. At the time, Damon’s purchase set a new record for the borough, making him the owner of the most expensive property ever sold in Brooklyn.

Despite the fact that the penthouse consists of several units merged for extra space, the actor will be downsizing considerably. And the loss in square footage is matched by a significant downgrade in outdoor space — though it’s worth noting that Matt Damon’s new home does have an expansive terrace, a rarity for New York City. There’s no Zen backyard pool though, so we’re pretty sure the Good Will Hunting actor will, at times, miss his Pacific Palisades retreat.

Tattoo Artist Kat Von D Buys Historic Mansion in Indiana

Kat Von D Indiana HomeDavid Livingston/Getty Images

The tattoo artist Kat Von D continues to ink real estate deals.

The reality television star recently moved into a home in Los Angeles’ Hancock Park neighborhood and listed her Spanish-style villa in the Hollywood Hills this summer. However, she also has her eye on homes farther afield.

She went on to purchase a historic mansion in Vevay, IN. So what’s going on?

She announced the buy on Instagram, with a photo showing a “Sold” sign in front of the property, posting: “It’s official! Vevay, Indiana here we come!”

After fans questioned whether she was leaving L.A. for good, Von D clarified her dalliance with the Hoosier State.

“Definitely not ever selling our beautiful home in LA,” Von D posted.

She didn’t pass up the opportunity to snipe at her home state, adding, “But with all that has been taking place in California with terrible policies, tyrannical government overreach, ridiculous taxing, amongst so much more corruption, we just felt the need to plant roots in a small town where there is nature, where my son can be free to play, and where we can eventually retire one day.”

Despite her gripes, she’s not leaving the Golden State behind, although she appears open to spending way more time in Indiana.

She teased the move with a post in November, posting, “I wonder if Vevay, Indiana would mind if I opened up a little tattoo shop up here…”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CHiu6nul0oy/

While we don’t know what prompted the artist to check out Indiana, we can see the appeal of the property she purchased.

The four-story, 35-room home came on the market in March for $1,874,000. It’s unclear what Von D paid to get the keys, but the home is currently off market.

Most recently a bed and breakfast, the home was built in 1874 and sits on 10.6 acres. It was designed by the Cincinnati architect George P. Humphries for Benjamin Franklin Schenck, the son of a wealthy “hay king” of the era.

The four-story residence was “the marvel of its time,” according to a website about the home’s history. Known as the Schenck Mansion, it’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The restoration of its 12,000-square-foot interior, completed from 1998 through 2000, was voted Indiana’s best save in 2001, according to the listing description.

Details include a four-story tower, seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms, plus two half-bathrooms. The grounds boast a large patio, gazebo, fountains, waterfalls, and even a small vineyard.

Best of all for an out-of-state buyer? The home was offered fully furnished, with antiques, silverware, and even dishes.

Von D loves a Goth look, and she has now redone two homes. Her Hancock Park home, which she purchased in 2016, has some wild choices, for example, her blood-red bathroom.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CE7mfjyFS0g/

Perhaps this is another project? Or maybe she’ll keep it as a bed-and-breakfast for aficionados of body modification.

Whatever she decides, she’ll keep her fans updated on social media.

As she ponders her next steps in Indiana, her Hollywood Hills home is still on the market. She initially listed the 1920s Spanish-style villa for $3.4 million in August, but it has since come down in price to $2.85 million.

Von D is best known for her TLC reality series, “LA Ink,” which followed her work at her tattoo shop, High Voltage Tattoo, in Hollywood. She also launched a vegan beauty brand, Kat Von D Beauty, which she sold in 2020.

Stacey Craig with Lohmiller Real Estate had the listing for the Vevay home.

Inside Supernatural Star Jensen Ackles’ ‘Very Hip’ Lake House in Austin

If you’re a die-hard Supernatural fan like us, you’re probably still reeling from the show’s finale and coping with the fact that there won’t be any new Winchester adventures for us to follow. But we’re not here to talk about that, but rather snoop into the private life of one of the series’ leading men. More specifically, Jensen Ackles’ house — which we actually think Dean Winchester would approve of.

The actor starring in CW’s longest running show and his wife Danneel opened up their 7,500-square-foot home in Austin, Texas to Architectural Digest, giving us a rare glimpse into the heartthrob’s home and personal life.

As the story goes, the couple was relocating from Los Angeles and initially considered buying a house down the road when they noticed this property (that wasn’t even for sale). But since they fell in love with it, the couple went ahead and asked the previous owners if they’d be willing to sell. And since it’s not easy resisting Jensen Ackles’ charms, they managed to convince the owners so the Ackles’ moved on to the next step –- redecorating the house.

To help out, they hired architect Paul Lamb and interior designer Fern Santini and together they came up with some brilliant ideas on how to best revamp their already-stunning new house.

“It was imperative that the house express the Ackleses — young, bold, and irreverent,” Lamb told AD.

Jensen Ackles’ house, which boasts five bedrooms, revolves around Danneel’s decorating outlook of “more is more is more!” There is a lot of color, texture, a lot of wood work going on to make it look like a lake house and endless decorations with some of the coolest background stories.

Let there be music

In Supernatural, Jensen loves music. Remember his spontaneous Eye of a Tiger outtake? Still fun to watch! There’s definitely more of where that came from in real life, since Jensen did his best to create an amazing acoustic sound in his house.

The living room is scattered with guitars and all across the shag rug lie comfy and colored floor pillows. All this because the couple loves having friends over, sitting on the floor, singing and playing the guitar.

Jensen was excited to talk about one of his favorite features of the house: “The hand-scraped wood floors undulate quite heavily, and we’ve got these giant beams and wood all around that feel like you’re in the hull of a giant ship.” “What that does is it creates an amazing acoustic sound,” he continues. “We’ve always had music in our lives, and we wanted to pass on that tradition.”

Jensen’s kick-ass bar

They’ve taken care of the music, and to complete the ambiance they got rid of the formal dining room (that nobody used anyway) and replaced it with a kick-ass bar.

Placed on one end of the large living room, the bar is made out of black walnut with black and white veined marble. The cabinets were specially made to light the expensive bourbons it holds inside.

The master suite

There’s a master bedroom swaddled in Trove wallpaper bearing vintage photography of 1920s opera boxes. The wallpaper is covered in sections by Japanese-inspired barn door panels “because sometimes you need an audience and sometimes you don’t”.

The master bathroom has a beautiful
bathtub sitting in front of a large window that provides a stunning view to the
lake.

The Mr. and Mrs. own two separate counters, because, you know, it just makes things easier in the mornings; and the inspiration for their master bathroom shower came from an Architectural Digest story featuring a steel and glass shower in the home of Neil Patrick Harris.

Jensen Ackles’ bright, wood-framed home

Thanks to exposed beams, larger expanses of windows, and rich wooden ceilings, the architect managed to simplify and open the spaces. They simply tore down walls to let more natural light into the home.

Jensen’s favorite space is the breezy two-story screened porch that transformed the entire profile of the house; and his favorite piece – a custom long table made using a 2,000-year-old cypress log.

Parents of three

Jensen and Danneel have three beautiful children, so they had to choose the decor and furniture according to their needs as well. It appears that the couple’s eldest daughter would make a great interior designer once she grows up. The six-year-old girl, JJ, helped pick out all her own bedroom decor.

Unsurprisingly, the kids’ favorite toy is a rolling acrylic table from the ‘50s, placed in the kitchen. Everybody loves a happy kitchen!

Jensen Ackles’ home is full of hidden gems

The actor’s house is a personalized, eccentric, yet highly livable place. It was designed to resemble the Laurel Canyon bungalow the couple had once lived in and it’s a testament to the old school, Austin-style lake house.

The space is filled with all kinds of eccentric and eclectic objects—some useful, some decorative, some both. The decorations could be found in abundance in Austin during its bohemian period (the Ackles’ are active supporters of local art), as well as in late-60s California.
